Where is Camp I Can located?

Camp I Can is located at Holy Spirit Catholic School - 515 S Albert St, St Paul, MN 55116

Who can attend Camp I Can?

Girls going into the grades 1st through 8th for the 2022-2023 school year can register for Camp I Can!

Can I sign my child up for multiple camp sessions?

No. Please only sign up your child for one of the sessions at their grade level.

What should my child bring every day to Camp I Can?

Please send your child with running shoes, sunscreen with a label on it, a water bottle, a cold lunch plus a snack in a bag or a backpack. Campers may bring sunglasses, hats, or other outdoor wear to protect themselves from the sun. Campers are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic clothes in instances where they participate in a sports game or practice mindful movements.

If your child has any medical needs that require medication, an inhaler, or an epipen, please label all of these and place in their backpack.

What does drop off and pick up look like?

Drop off is from 9:00-9:15 and pick up is from 2:00-2:15. We are not offering extended day at this time.

Please drop off and pick up campers at the main doors of the school 

Can children bring their cellphones to call home while they’re at camp?

Of course! We will ask that campers do not use their cellphone during the camp but will have access if they need to call home as well as utilizing the counselor's phone or the school phone for emergencies.

What if my child is sick and cannot attend camp?

We understand that sickness happens and we ask that your child stays home if they are feeling sick and are experiencing symptoms. Please email Becca or Liz at campicanforgirls@gmail.com if your child will not be at camp that day.

*We will not provide monetary refunds for your child missing a day of camp.

What type of training do the counselors receive?

Our counselors are Master's Level Mental Health Therapists who have been working in schools as a school counselor. Counselors are well trained in Sanford Harmony curriculum which is the foundation of Camp I Can.

Camp I Can staff are trained in a wide variety of social and emotional skills and strategies.

​

Camp I Can staff are medically trained and certified to provide CPR, first-aid, and emergency management.

What if my child can only come for part of the camp or half a day?

We understand other commitments come up! We are flexible with campers coming for part of camp (ex. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) or half a day (ex. 9-12 or 12-2). Please contact us individually at campicanforgirls@gmail.com. The price of camp is the same regardless of accommodations.

What if my child has allergies?

Please contact us individually at campicanforgirls@gmail.com with specifics about your child. 


Please know, Camp I Can is a peanut free camp and we will monitor for no peanut items during snacks and meals. 

What will Camp I Can provide?

Camp I Can will provide all activity materials (ex. journals and a goodie bag) and a pizza party on Thursday of camp (if your child does not want to participate in the pizza party, please pack a lunch and snack as normal).

What does a typical day at Camp I Can look like?

Every day will follow a different SEL topic. There will be large group time, small group time and individual time with the counselors. Camp will be filled with a variety of fun activities to keep campers engaged and excited about SEL. Each day will be dedicated to a different topic including mindfulness and self-awareness, friendships and kindness, self-confidence and empowerment, and conflict resolution and social skills.

What is Camp I Can's COVID-19 and masking policy?

We will be monitoring the health and safety of all campers closely. We will be following the recommendations from Holy Spirit Catholic School. At this time, masking is not required but we will respect campers who choose to wear one.

Please note masking requirements could change as recommendations change. We will be sure to send out any updates.

If a camper tests positive for COVID-19 please keep them home. We will make every effort to reschedule your child's camp experience.

What if there is bad weather on a day of camp?

We understand Minnesota has unpredictable weather. We will have an indoor and outdoor space for camp. If it is storming or raining, we will hold camp indoors for the day.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your registration for Camp I Can, please cancel before 30 days of the start of your child's camp session for a full refund. If you cancel 2 weeks before the start date of your child's session, 50% refund will be issued. If you cancel with less than 2 weeks before the start date of your child's session, no refund will be issued.

Is this therapy?

No. Camp I can for girls is an enrichment program to grow and develop social and emotional skills. It is NOT identification, treatment or remediation for any mental health problem. If you are concerned about your child’s mental health, please see an outside provider.

What is a Camp I Can Pop-up?

​Camp I Can for Girls is putting on 1 day pop-up camps across the Twin Cities. This is a chance for your student to see what a day is like at Camp! We will spend the day learning skills around emotion and social interactions as well as having a lot of FUN!

Who can register for Camp I Can Pop-ups?

December 21st Pop-up is open to girls in 1st through 5th grade!
