Experience Phoenix School Counseling Services

There’s No Place Like Camp I Can!

Phoenix School Counseling Services is now offering an Emotional, Behavioral and Relationship (EBR) skills camp experience for girls going into grades 1st through 9th. Camp I Can is staffed by experienced Mental Health Therapists and Professionals, and offers the opportunity for girls to grow their social skills, emotion management, kindness and friendship, self-awareness and conflict resolution. Camp I Can will offer activities and lessons, team-building experiences, fun games, and a place where each student can turn their "cant's" into "I can's!"

What is Emotional, Behavioral and Relationship (EBR)

We define Emotional, Behavioral and Relationship skills as an integral part of education and human development. EBR skills help individuals apply knowledge and mindsets to develop healthy self-awareness, manage emotions, achieve goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

What foundational curriculum will Camp I Can utilize?

Camp I Can will be utilizing portions of Sanford Harmony Curriculum (2022). Harmony fosters knowledge, skills, and attitudes, where students develop healthy self-awareness, create meaningful relationships, and engage productively. (Harmony, 2022).

Research demonstrates that students who engage in programs like Harmony:

  • Perform 13% better academically

  • Experience fewer conduct problems, emotional distress and drug use

  • Graduate from high school and college at higher rates

  • Are less likely to experience mental health disorders
